What is a “Bruh Girl”?

In a recent MDSUN blog post, discussing the “Vogue Fashion Trend”, Tik Tok has recently resurfaced with the next biggest trend: the “bruh girl” vs the “girly-girl”. Although this trend first started off as something comical, it soon became the most talked about on the app. Influencers would post a side-by-side video of them acting out what a “bruh girl” while pasting specific emojis to indicate what a “girly-girl” was. But what exactly is the difference between these two personas?

What is a “Bruh Girl”?

A “bruh girl” is a girl who is seen to have more masculine traits. They are labeled as someone that has a lot of guy friends, edgy, likes to play videogames, and is identified with a tom-boy persona.

What is a “Girly-Girl”?To be more exact, a “girly-girl” is someone with more feminine traits. These girls love to dress in soft pink, prefer to get their makeup done, and love shopping.

While both of these personas were not meant to harm others, the “bruh girl” seemed to gain the most popularity among TikTok creators and users. The uniqueness about the “bruh girl” is that she seems to be more fun to hang out with while the “girly-girl” seems less of a better option. See a video compilation between these two personas for more information.

Even if you seem to be leaning more to the “bruh girl” rather than the “girly-girl”  or vice-versa, just remember that each persona is really for comedic purposes and not intended to hurt anyone.

While you are scrolling through these Tik Tok compilations, just remember to apply a nice serum to keep your skin balanced and healthy.
